The Melanchthon Institute was founded in 1994 by the congregation of Christ the King Lutheran Church as a gift to Christians in the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast region. The Melanchthon Institute is a continuing education center for faith formation and leadership development for congregations and individuals.
The primary mission of the Institute is to provide education for the laity and continuing education for clergy. The Institute examines the best of our intellectual theological traditions and draws attention to deeper issues in the relevance of the Christian faith in contemporary culture.
